| Day 1: Arrival in Siem Reap, Visit Rolous Group like Preah Ko Temple, Bakong Temple and Lolei Temple, Angkor Wat Temple, Sunset on the Bakheng Mountain.
Day 2: Visit South Gate and the Bayon Temple, Bapoun Temple, Terrace of the Elephant, Pre Rup Temple, Ta Som Temple, Neak Pean Temple, Pheah Khan Temple, Temple, Bateay Kdei Temple. Day 3: Visit Banteay Srey Temple, Bateay Samre Temple, Ta Prohm Temple, Artisan’D Angkor Work Shop and local Market. Day 4: Spend the morning at leisure until you are transferred to the airport. |
Arrive at the Siem Reap airport and transfer to the hotel. Then visit the earliest temples of the Angkor period at Roluos, including Preah Ko Temple, Bakong and Lolei for a useful chronological perspective on Angkor’s development. Lunch at local restaurant.
After lunch, you will travel to the place that many consider to be the masterpiece of Khmer architecture, Angkor Wat, a massive temple with details that include carvings and reliefs that depict scenes of Hindu mythology and Cambodian history. Sunset on the Bakheng Hill. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight in Siem Reap.
Today visit Angkor Thom’s famous South Gate and Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara. From the Bayon Temple continue on foot to the Baphuon Temple, recently re-opened to the public, where you will pass by the wooden Royal Palace. Then continue to the Terrace of the Elephants where a parade used to be held for the king. Lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon, Pre Rup Temple, the mountain-temple, Ta Som Temple, Neak Pean Temple, a fountain built in the middle of a pool and representing the paradisaical Himalayan mountain-lake, Eastern Mebon, guarded at its corner by stone figures of harnessed elephants and Preah Khan Temple built by the King Jayavarman VII, a place of towered enclosures and shoulder-hugging corridors, Banteay Kdei temple.
Tonight a special Khmer dinner will be served, where your meal will be accompanied by traditional Khmer Apsara dance. Overnight in Siem Reap.
This morning, travel to the “gem” of the Angkor area, the pretty temple of Banteay Srey Temple. The so-called “Citadel of the Women” displays some of the finest examples of classical Khmer art. On the way back to Siem Reap you will visit Banteay Samre Temple, on the eastern edge of the Angkor complex and a local village to see the production of rice paper and palm wine. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Visit the Jungle-clad Ta Prohm Temple, the small twin temple of Chau Say Tevoda Temple. Drive back to the town for a shopping (Old Market & Artisan DÁngkor). Dinner in the local restaurant and overnight in Siem Reap.
Spend the morning at leisure until you are transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
